You guys are my last resort here. I have a Canon Optura 30A DV cam. When I'm transfering images pulled form the SD card via USB, I have no problems at all.
However, when I try to connect the camcoder via Firewire, WinXP Pro won't recognize it as a video source. I've tried installing Win98 drivers, I've tried two different firewire cards, two different cables... I get nothing.
It makes the noise when I plug it in, and it says it found the hardware. But it only installs it as an imaging device for transfering pictures. I can't get any of my video editing programs or WinXP Pro to see my DV cam as a video source.
Any ideas as to what the problem is?
