  1. Background info:

At present I'm capturing using Matrox RTX-100 via firewire which creates a AVI file at full D1 720x576. I then load this file into MainConcept 1.4.2 and encode to DVD compliant half D1 format as the Matrox RTX-100 & Premier Pro dosen't support 352x576 resolution. Mainconcept works well and can output elementary video and audio streams.

    Now here's my problem.

If i capture directly via firewire with MainConcept 1.4.2 from my Canon XL1-S PAL DV camcorder Mainconcept 1.4.2 always creates a multiplexed *.mpg file. I select audio output to *.wav and multiplexing = none but still end up with a all in one *.mpg. What additional setting do I need make to give me seperate video/audio streams.

The reason I need seperate files is because I can edit the wav prior to creating a DVD with DVDLab or DVD_Author

I hope you understand what I mean. Any assistance would be very welcomed.

    Thank you very much.

I would simply demultiplex your captured mpeg to it's ES in TMPG

Open TMPG - go to Mpeg Tools - go to Simple Demultiplex to get your

    m1v/m2v and mpa

Then, you can encode the mpa to 48khz, then ac3 it prior to importin it into your authroing proggy

  3. I'm almost positive you can not split the MPEG capture into V and A streams. Use TMPEG as denoted above.

What authoring program requires two sep streams?

  4. Just do like these guys said.

It only takes a minute or so to demux in tmpgenc.

  5. Just drop it into DVDLab - it'll demux the MPG for you, and save the mpa/mpv files under the same name in the same directory.
I want the Star Wars O-OT on DVD, dammit!
