  1. Here's the problem: A friend of mine has several MPEG's he burned to a DVD-R. Just burned it like data, not authoring or anything. Not surprisingly, this doesn't work on my DVD-player(Pioneer DV-360), although it works on his (Yamaha Something-or-other) thanks to some fancy built in menus.
So, i come over, try to properly author a dvd. Problem: The files have a bitrate consistent with (S)VCD's and in order to burn them they have to be increased in size, from around .8 GB to around 3 GB. This of course yeilds a little problem with filesizes.

The question: Can I make a DVD, playable on a run-of-the-mill DVD player (That supports (S)VCD of course) without increasing the bitrates? Sort of like a VCD, only DVD-sized. If so, could you tell me what program would be suitable for this, or a guide that explains how to do it?

Sorry if this is already answered somewhere, but this is a huge site.
