    I d/l a few movies in French.
    How would I convert to English or can I subtitle in English?
    How do I do that and what software(s) will I need?

    you can learn to speak french, or just go out and buy the movie, because it will have an english track or at least subtitles.
    But seriously, downloaded movies are what they are, you can't magically convert the audio into english.
