I'm attempting to get rid of the fuzz/noise around the edges of images on multi generational vhs tapes after I've converted them to dvd. I badly need a filter for this if it even exists. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You could use some of the inbuilt noise filters in programs such as TMPGEnc Plus although if it is only around the edges you might consider that you won't see them when playing on a TV because of overscan, or consider cropping say 8 pixels off each side and adding black bars.
If in doubt, Google it. -
The idea should have been to remove the noise before during capturing. A time based corrector between the VHS and your computer or a camera with pass through.
Once you have the capture completed, TMPGEnc Plus! has a few setting you may want to try. Use this guide.Hello.
