I hope this isn't in the wrong forum.., otherwise feel free to move

Has anyone any good reviews/experience w/ this USB 1.1 device ??

    VS.

    VS.

    others

    .
    .
    If so, how does it:

    * sound - quality'wise

    * handle w/ CPU Load and Resouces, and requirements, etc.

    * compare to the next model (which is USB 2)

I don't think that I'm looking for cutting-edge tech, but I am replacing my
Santa Cruz (Turle Beach) sound card, since it too has died on me. Nothing
but pc problems this whole month

Oh yeah, I'm under Windows 98 Gold

Please share you experience with this device.
Also, if you have any other audio for USB/Firewire device suggestion, please
feel free to add them here :P

    Thanks,

    Hi vhelp,
I have a Creative Digital Music ( $85 AUD ) which looks very similar to the MP3+.
I use mine for capturing VHS, Laser Disc, Records and DSTB where the limiting factor is the source, not the Sound card. I use Windows XP on my AMD 2800XP and P4 3.0 GHz computers and see no load increase during use. The sound quality is far better than the on board sound cards, in both digital and analog, especially when playing DTS DVD's. I am very impressed with the results that I have got from this sound card on my $4000 AUD speakers
If you are going to be using it as part of a HT PC or high quality sound reproduction is your need, I would suggest the NX or an M Audio USB sound card. Have a look. http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.main&ID=eee876ef2e6cbb4ac377f83c406e8885
If you have a $1000 home theatre system you would probably not be able to hear the difference between the MP3+ and the NX.
    I hope this helps.
