  2. No, TMGenc is not available for Macs..But there is various freeware, shareware and commercial MPEG encoders available like Apple Compressor, MainConcept Mac encoder, Bitvice MPEG encoder, ffmpegX, MPEG2 Works, MediPipe, iVCD etc...

You can find more infos on various Mac application on sites like Versiontracker.com, Macupdate.com and MacShareWare.net...Do a search and You will find what You need, for sure...

Also, Macs plays AVI files just fine...If You want to play DivX navigate to DivX.com and download DivX QuickTime component and watch Your DivX movies through QT...You can, also, download some of the freeware players like MPlayer and VLC...They can play almost every format which exist now...

never used TMGenc myself, but as pointed out there's lots of ones avaliable for mac. My favorite for interesting encodes would have to be ffmpegx

as noted, the only way a divx doest play on a mac is if you dont have the codec installed.

    http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/ - Divx

please note it could also be one of the other million codecs just renamed to .avi to look like a divx.

3ivx would be a good one to install
    http://3ivx.com/download/macos.html - 3ivx

but note, that VLC and MplayerOSX can handle these and many other file types with out the hastle of installing all these individual codec's
