  2. You are lazy. Read the HOW-TO guides on the left of this forum. You question can make a best introductory paragraph to those guide pages, man.

jonywinf: you want to use TMPENC to convert avi to MPEG1, this is the best program... its fast and effective.. im not going to tell you the settings cuz it is on the HOW TO > COnvert link on the left of this forum.. if you don't understand that tutorial, you shouldn't be allowed near a computer =)

  6. Ok, Jonywinf, you are Not lazy. You are just Too.. busy. Ok? Too bad; was about to post the From-AVI-To-VCD-Guide-For-Dummies i drafted just now then i noticed you'd already been assisted. In order to be constructive , i'll post this piece from my Dummies' Guide in case you misunderstand making VCD is just a matter of copying MPEG file onto a CDRom.

  7. now Tarty that is a useful response and I thank you...the burning process I have down pat...I know that They have to be burnrd from .mpg...was looking for a quicker way of converting to .mpg from .avi but I guess there isn't...now what I got to do is check to make sure that my DVD player will play SVCD's which I see are a better quality... as I said I thank you for your response.

  10. There is really no right answer because there is too many ways to go about it. Any of the apps will get u to S/VCD compliant.

Look for past post from users who created step-by-step screen shots.

Just remember that converting from one format to another looses quality.

4 me, I'm using cce to convert divx TV shows.
