  1. I got the Pink Floyds PULSE dvd & was gonna rip off some favs. into mpeg2 files with my TMPGEnc wares, Sounds easy enough, untill, I see that PULSE is in 5.1 audio only, and none my wares can't handle the 6.1 audios its saing.

Anyway, it's been along long time since I have turned any 5.1 files into mpeg2 files from dvd rips, sooo? could some of you guys share your favorite steps into how you would go about in getting a 5.1 audio only dvd ripped & saved to mpeg2 please?

    Thank you very much.

To convert the multichannel audio to stereo, I would rip the DVD content into a VOB file containing both video and audio, open this with VirtualDUB-MOD.

Edit what you want to keep and save as AVI.

    Re-encode both to MPEG2.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

First off I hate to tell you but you got ripped off and bought a BOOTLEG. PULSE has not been released on DVD yet. The 5.1 sound is faked. Probably sourced from Laserdisc and even that did not have 5.1 sound, only stereo. PULSE is slated for release this year but no definete date has been set. So PLEASE buy the official release when it comes out. Don't support the BOOTLEGGERS.

Actually I thougt it was a BL when I got it. But I just wanted to try & get some of the files ripped into MPEG-2 DVD MPEG-1 Layer II 48.0 kHz 16-bit Stereo But i've only had bad luck doing so.
    Thank ya anyway.

    8) And will buy the official release when it comes out.

Rip the audio in streams with DVDDecrypter, then downsample to stereo with BeSweet. You can then import the steams into TDA.
