    I dont have my laptop in front of me, but isnt there some options In the control panel under mouse for the touchpad? maybe disable it there.

    My old Dell Inspiron had a supplimental driver that allow further settings above and beyond the control panel settings

    you would go to control panel>mouse>device settings. from there you would highlight the touchpad and click disable.
