I couldn't find any guides for AVI to WMV so I decided to ask here. Is it possible using TMPGEnc?

I want to keep a decent quality, yet make it a really small size so I can put some up on a website. I also have the XVID codec, but wouldn't WMV be better for lower compression?

When I want to compress an AVI video file, I usually just select 'Video-CD-->NTSC" and just use the default settings. But the file size is still pretty big then. What other options/settings would help compress besides lowering the bitrate?

TmpGenc is an mpeg encoder. It does not make wmv format files.

If you you re-encode, you lose quality. Period.

If you compress further than it is already, you lose quality. Period.

To produce WMV format files, you need windows media encoder, available for download from MS.
