no audio when converted

sorry if this has been answered before but i converted an avi file into a dvd file using ulead moviefactory 3 have menu,s and all but there is no audio on the movie itself,ive even used ulead videostudio to edit bit from the movie to make a motion background and it has no sound either.the movie does have sound but what could be the problem,could it be codecs or something,look forward to hearing from u all

I suppose your program do not support AC-3 digital audio.
I bet your input is from DVD
Search the forum for AC-3 to see which program to use for conversion/edditing that suports this format.

i never had any problem with audio before this is a frist and ive converted loads b4,by the way i installed windows media player 9 yesterday would that have hay thing to do with it
