I use the popup blocker found in the google toolbar and have not had a problem with popups until 2 days ago. Now all of a sudden popups are appearing frequently as browse the net yet the google popup blocker is on. I do not know of anything I did to cause this. Can anyone recommend a fix or better popup blocker that is free. Thanks for your help.
    Thank You,

Yea download adaware and spybot, update both before running them. Most likley you have been infected by a spyware program. Frequent pop ups are a symptom of this. Google won't block them because it thinks your asking for the page.

Do they show up on sites that you know don't have pop-ups such as this one? If so I would still think it's spyware. Possibly a new one, goddamn bastards . Have you updated adawae and spybot? Another thing is have you downlopaded the critical updates from MS, there has been quite a few released recently, won't help your current poblem but will prevent future ones.

Try gitreel's suggestion, there's others. There's a thread from a week or so ago that had a lot of links for spyware removal. Look down the list.

HiJack This is a good program, but do not mess with anything without making a restore point and asking someone who knows what they are doing first. Bazooka Adware and Spyware scanner will solve your problems, guranteed. :P I never found a popup blocker for Internet Explorer that protected against ActiveX, try Firefox? :P
