OK, i managed to capture my first old VHS-home made movie well, tanx to this great site. I burned the stuff, played it in a standalone and.........the last movie flick: hangs, skips, freezes,....
What now? Is this due to a cheap standalone player, wrong DVD media? what should i do to prevent this?

Could be cheap media. do a nero cd speed test on the disc and check for read errors/problems. if there is problems you could try to burn slower or use some different software to burn. but if its cheap media you may just need some different brand discs.

tanx for reply Treebeard, some more questions, i burn at x4 with Nero though my writer supports x8, so maybe it's the dvd-media...what is best DVD-R or DVD+R (newbie remember?)

-R or +R does not make media better, Its about brand and the dye used in manufacturing. Go to www.nomorecoasters.com for media recomendations.Originally Posted by stompinne

Are you saying the end of your DVD skips and freezes?Originally Posted by stompinne
If so, this is usually from cheap media.(bad dye coverage on outside edge of disc.)
Try not filling up the entire disc, leave about 100-300 meg free depending on the discs and how bad they are. i.e. size your DVD to 4.2Gig instead of 4.48 or what ever the max is. -
Tanx guys, i suppose you're right, an easier solution cannot be found (why didn't i came up with this)
