  1. I think this is a first for me. I have a DVD that plays fine on my very picky Pioneer DVD player but my G4 chews on it for a while and spits it out everytime. Is this a copy protected disc? I get no reaction what so ever from the finder, Mac the Ripper, ect.

    Is it commercially pressed or recorded? If it's recorded, it's surely a media problem due to crappy DVD-R media. If it's pressed, maybe it's damaged in a particular way that makes the OS choke. If that's the case, I'd suggest trying to locate another copy of that movie.
