I just installed the IC8 Trial on my PC and my laptop. I had previously viewed DVDs in RealPlayer on my desktop. Now when I pull up a DVD in RP, I get no sound. Same thing happens on my laptop when I play it in RP or WMP9. If I use WinDVD I get sound. If I uninstall IC8, I get sound from RP and WMP again. Sound works for mpegs and other audio/video formats, but all I get from DVD is video if I have IC8 installed.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

    Any thoughts, ideas?

    It's free for 15 days. I thought I'd give it a try.

I have not experienced your issue...but IC7 is better than IC8 and WMP9 sucks and causes a lot of problems for some people. I still use WMP2.

You might check out the support forums at microsoft.com, someone there might know why.

if you can be bothered to try this

IC8 might be installing some audio codecs (or changing the MERITS) so that WMP etc will use them as they just use the codecs with the highest MERIT by default. Programs like PowerDVD, WinDVD use their own codecs and not the default OS ones so that's why they normally work

you could use a program called RadLight Filter Manager which allows you to assign the values so you can lower the ones IC uses and then just assign WINDVD's to something like 080000000 (make a note of what it was if you want to switch back)

a program like GSPOT might tell you what currently has the highest value as it's awkward to see which is the highest with most programs. A program that showed all codecs and Merits in one page would be great or even a before and after comparision tool. Does anyone know of one?
