All of these are made from the post your pic thread. Poorer quality than I expected. I'll try to tweak the finer settings.

    And finally the perfect thong

how many photos are you using in your sample set? I know that Centarsia recommends a photo pool of several thousand for optimal results...

I tried it last night. Maximum grid size for any useful results seems to be about 15x15. With a queue of around 100 picts, results were dismal. Queues of around 2000 produced images that were at least identifiable.

The greater contrast in the master the better.

If you look carefully you'll see that the pics repeat and if you pick out only yours you'll see a pattern. One of mine ends up right where the thong is ....you might say, the "sweet spot"

I should see if I can find the image-scraper program I saw recently - grabs pictures from websites automatically. scrape all the pics from dvdrhelp - avatars, screenshots, posted images, the works - and use that as your image pool.

should probably ask Baldrick how much space the images take before I do so...

actually the images take up a surprisingly small amount. He said something like 150 mb.

Didn't he say his entire DB backup was less than 1G? I know the images are separate, but that is still pretty small considering how much we post!

I was amazed too. Even though most of this board is text, it's still a lot of text

well, if I knew that, I wouldn't have to look very hard

I know it was at one of 3 sites I frequent, I just need to dig around for a few minutes once I get home and look for it.

don't think so - I've seen WebReaper, but this was a similar program that only grabbed images, not the whole HTML works.

and I wouldn't recognize it by sight - I've only seen a description, no screenshots. it was one of those "that seems interesting, but what would I ever use it for?" programs that I end up going back 6 months later and digging up...

Well, I just played around a little with an app called WebImage Miner. It would probably do the job, but the trial is limited to 100 pics max. By the time I hit the 100 pic limit, I still had not made it past the ads, had a queue of over 3,000 external links to check, had only finished searching 70 pages, and was only looking for jps (excluded gifs, pngs, bmps, etc)

I figured I'd better stop before getting myself banned!
