Anyone know the name of the program that takes hundreds of photos to make up a larger photo.

Dr Gee.
I use Paint Shop Pro and you can create a canvas any size you want then drop in pics... resize, rotate, crop ect.... a little manual but it works ok.
Not aware of any 'canned' apps for doing it though -

By the way, if your browser is down, how did you get to the forums? -

I searched and couldnt find what I'm looking for. There are a ton of collage programs but none appear to do what I need. I should probably explain further. This program will take many photos and analyze each ones predominate color. It then skrinks these and uses them to make up a target photo. Playboy did a cover like this several years ago.

Cool, thanks. That might be good to use with all of the pics people have submitted. I don't think there would be enough though. Might be able to incorporate it into a t-shirt.

There's tons of programs that do that...

Running out of time before leaving for work, but this one sounds close:
Code:AKVIS Chameleon - Collage Creation Software for automatic adjustment of inserted objects to the target image color range. The tool is extremely easy to use as it does not require precise selection of objects. Copy an object, insert it into another picture, press a button and the object adjusts to the new background as chameleons do - adapting to the new color range and blending with the environment. AKVIS Chameleon is used to insert new objects in a picture, but with much more flexibility and ease than with conventional tools (collage creation). AKVIS Chameleon is also used to conceal undesirable artifacts by replacing them with the nearby parts of the image (similar to the clone tool). The official web-site (http://www.akvis.com) offers numerous examples and ideas on using the Chameleon Plugin application. AKVIS Chameleon plugin is compatible with Adobe Photoshop (tested with v. 5, 6, 7, CS), Jasc Paint Shop Pro (tested with 6.02, 7.04, 8).

If this is what you are looking to do, then it is pretty easy, and is done with masks. -
I want the one in the Santa cap to slide down my chimney

I could have jazzed the edges of the text up to make it easier to read but I was just looking for the effect, not a publishable image.

glad that's hitting the spot - I went looking for photomosaic software a few months ago, and that was the only good freeware I found.

I'm waiting for the inevitable noob post: "What good is this thread? These programs aren't going to help me get through collage"

Just my bitter, hateful observation of the quality of spelling and other basic skills we see nowadays from HS grads

I understand what Dr.Gee is saying and I know there are a ton of programs out there like that. I just don't know the names. There's a Darth Vader Poster Like that where the picture's pixels are actually screen shots from the trilogy. They also did that with Yoda, R2-D2, & C3PO. Most of R2 was Hoth and Sky-City screenshots. Yoda was Endor and Degoba mostly.
