I'm just curious to see how it performs compared to XviD 1.0.1 now.
It's been a while since there's been an update to XviD and the DivX 5.2 update is claimed to be a major one with big improvements. I'm just wondering if it is able to come up to the level of the latest XviD.

No, but check out the "Divx" forum over on the forums at www.Doom9.org pretty much everyone there says that it not only doesn't stand up to Xvid, but that to some it looks worse than 5.1.1
