    Hi,

I'm in the thoughts of buying a NEC ND-2510 - it seems so nice! I just want to ask a couple of questions to clear out the air:

    1) How about ND-2510's reading problems? I've read it somewhere and I wanted to ask how big these problems are? And: can this be fixed with a hacked firmware for example?

    2) Can the drive be used in Windows 98. I know I should upgrade to at least SE, but I just want to ask. The official recommendings says no but perhaps someone else has done it and succeeded?

    3) And. When it comes to media... Where can I find an offical list on what media is accepted and perhaps *will* be included in future firmware upgrades?

    Thanks very much in advance

  2. 1. I have virtually no readability problems with my NEC-2500A.
Hacked firmware does not increase reading capabilities.

    2. Yes, the drive can function in Windows 98. But as you already know, Windows 2000 or greater is recommended.

    3. Official Media list: http://www.de.nec.de/software/1449_Media_List_for_8x_DVD_Writer.pdf
