  1. So I send some DV files from my Sony CAM into the Computer using PowerDirector...Unfortunately, I converter them into MPEG-2 format and after adding all the titles and effects...I'm ready to put them into a DVDr...but when I got to PRODUCE my (about 1hr15min long) movie, the process estimated to take about 6 hours....Is this For real...I mean...All the files are MPEG2 already so there shouldn't be any long encoding....I did add some special Effects but none that would take that long....

Since i'm new to PowerDirector, I'm not sure if this is some kind of mistake or if it's how the software works....

Do any of you guys out there have any solution for me??...I wouldn't mind using another software but i like to be able to put on some titles and Effects onto my movie....

  3. Okay...SO I kinda figure out my problems....Yes, My computer is a little slow but that's not my problem....When I first created the MPEG-2 files, the resolution is in 640x480 i think.....But a DVD requires it to be 720x480....Without knowing this, I try to created a DVD file so PowerDirector end up RE-ecoding the whole clip from 640x480 to 720x480....that's why it takes so long....Now that I know, I just need to keep everything simple....Thanks for the reply tho.....

I'm thinking about maybe giving Adobe Premier a Try....who've tried both give me a little of what Premier CAN and CAN'T do comparing to powerDirector??
