When I multiplex using bbMpeg, i keep getting buffer underflow errors. Tried increasing mux rate, but that seemed to make it worse. any ideas as to what i can do? tried TMPGEnc, but similar happened.

what type of file are you trying to multiplex?
If it's an SVCD, make sure those are checked, set muxrate to 0 (auto). This makes BB find the bitrate itself, and flags/multiplexes it accordingly. -
The video and udio streams were originally exported from Adobe Premiere 6.0 with bbMpeg using Mpeg-2 streams. used all the default values, except lowered audio to 128 kb/s
