    By 'security update' do you mean remove the ability to play content without connecting to a server to upload user information?

    from experience wait on mp10 it really screwed up my system. After rolling back to mp9, I still had problems.

    I remember WMP7 hosing my system when it first came out. Conflict between thier Roxio drivers and the ones I already had. <sarcasm> But I'm sure they learned their lesson.

  11. WMP 9 seems stable on my system. I use it for music, ripping MP3's and watching DVD's. Of course I needed a plugin for the MP3 and DVD use. I will wait on WMP 10 until its been out for awhile.

  13. i always liked the library system they used, but for videos i wouldnt use it does me for audio, the beta of 10 lol, they even managed to screw the library up there so its looking like ill be going else where,

    I use VideoLan these days, love it. Plays just about everything including BINs and even some RAR files. Its free as well.

    You guys really should give jetAudio a shot. There is a free version, and a shareware version. It is similar to WinAMP, and has all of the good WinAMP skins, but it does alot more than WinAMP. It plays pretty much everything I throw at it.
