you should not do this -- as it will either ruin the file or not play or maybe not even be able to be encoded .
it will ruin the file because you have to convert it to wav and re-encode it .
plus that is to low a bit rate for dts ..

    plus the encoder is 1500$

  3. I wouldn't care if its low for dts but its still dts but the thing is 1500bucks

    thats too much

just curious, which one is 1500 ? is the best? and does besweet able to do that?

    so:

first: how to convert it to PCM Wav so no quality loss?

second: whats the best cheapest and fair quality option?

    thanks for you reply btw

    DTS doesn't support 448 for 5.1

    besweet - no

you might as well convert it to ac3 5.1 as it wouldnt mater much anyway (448 ac3 is going to sound better than 448DTS (which you cant do anyway) )

    http://www.steinberg.net/en/ps/products/upcoming/dts_encoder/index.php?sid=0 (you need Nuendo also)

    or

    http://www.surcode.com/

if you convert it to wav - you will have quality loss when re-encoding as it is a lossy format ..

there is a comparison on both the dts and dolby web sites (with different results of course)

DTS uses a higher bit rate than dolby -- end of story .. i think it also sounds better , but it requires a higher bit rate to achive this ..

if ac3 were at the same bit rates -- it may also sound better ...
