  1. One of the new features of Toast 6.0.7 under the Video Options is that it supposedly will convert mpeg 2 directly to dvd without encoding if the mpeg is in the correct format already. Has anyone tried this yet? I thought it would be neat since Toast could create a basic menu and because Sizzle always seems to crash on me.

My next related question then is should the correct format then be to demux the mpeg and re-mux with the sound at 48000 mhz? Or could I just leave the mpeg 2 with the 44000 mhz?

    Thanks,
    Ice

Toast could do this in 6.0.5, it just hated anything that wasnt 720x480/576 at the correct frame rate. What Toast 6.0.7 will do is allow you to drop a VIDEO_TS folder in the Video tab and it will automatically know to write a DVD-Video disc, and not try to re-encode it. It seems enough Toast users didnt understand that to make a DVD-Video disc, they previously needed to select the Data tab then DVD-ROM. Once you knew this it was no problem, but I also realize it was not the most intuitive place to put it.

All except Toast 6.0.1 could make a video DVD from an MPEG2 file without re-encoding if the MPEG2 was in spec.

As for your sound question, Toast demuxes and remuxes the audio anyway. Just let it do its thing.
