    I have a DVD file on my hard drive. I only want to save parts of some of the VOB files. What do I need to do to save smal clips as MPG fiels.

    just read step1...and rename the vob to mpg.

    Thanks for the info. But that leave me with a huge mpg file.
    I want to save part of the VOB file and have it a normal size MPG file.

    didn't you read the guide??? you can select exact what you want with dvd shrink.

    if it is still huge, be sure to strip the audio tracks....and you can also shrink it.

  6. Renaming a .VOB to .MPG only works with MP2 audio,I recommend using DVDx if the audio is AC3.
    In DVDx you select DVD,then find the IFO,then move the slider to desired position in movie then hit the red button.
