Virtual Dub is suggested, but everytime i use it to split the file into two, the audio is out of sync with video.. i have yet to hear a correct way to fix this problem.. i would be greatly thankful if someone were to help me out..

  3. there are a few nice little progs that will resync the audio for you that u may still be able to download from digital-digest.com, the one i tested is avisync, it works on dvix files aswell & it takes just a few seconds. The prog changes the frame rate slightly and will resync the audio & video 2gether again.

  4. i guess AC-Sync would work if i had a PCM Codec or whatever it is, is there any other method i can sync the audio and video or is there any way i can get a PCM Codec?

  5. When splitting files with VirtualDub make sure both Audio and Video are set to "Direct stream copy". That will fix the getting out of sync problem.

I have the exact same problem but with mpeg 1 (VCD 2.0 1150kbs/s) I tried VCDCutter & TMPEG, and the second half is always out of sync.

    PLEASE HELP !!!

  8. well blow me over someone has mentioned vcd cutter... this program cause all my out of sync probs in the first place & it screws the film once it is burned sometimes not even working when finished!! Tmpeg is a common fault with Mpeg splitting especially if U have ripped & american dvd & then returned to doing a UK one.. audio goes miles out.. first disk will be fine but the second one well out. the hard way is killing your system & reinstalling everything or simply look for the registery entries for tmpeg & deleting them. Simply put the new copy back on. The other is really easy, just put tmpeg on another drive & it should work!

    Kev!

  10. well i dont know how to fix avi problems but i can tell u how to fix mpg probs..just extract the sound (either with vdub or in tmpgenc) then use tmpgencs multiplex tools (takes video and audio from different sources) this fixes all sync probs ;o)

When I get audio out-of-sync problem, I usually de-multiplex my mpeg files with Tmegenc, which split the mpeg into two separate video & audio files. I would then use BBmpeg to put them back together. depending on how bad the out-of-sync is, I would either delay the audio or video file for 500 ms to 800 ms ( more if it is really bad). The result I get was pretty good. Hope this helps

For mpg files, try TMPGenc Audio Gap Correct.

Setting-> Advanced-> Source Range (double-click), Audio Gap Correct. Positive values move sound earlier, negative values delay the sound.
