  1. Generally, how do people find DVDs made from ffmpegx with ac3 sound for compatibility with standalone players. I work with students, and I was thinking of putting an end of year DVD together and was interested in encoding to DVD with FFmpegX and Sizzle. The sources will be DV .avi or DV .movs probably.

    Any major headaches/disasters out there?

  2. I use ffmpeggui's AC3 encoder, which I believe is the same encoding engine, at 256K. I have never had a compliance issue with it.

  3. ffmpegX encoded ac3 streams are compliant.

aren't you using ffmpeg?? then it isn't compliant but it works on most dvd players.

  5. ffmpeg handles the ac3 encoding. There were indeed ac3 problems in CVS of 6 months ago and older, but they've been fixed, and I don't know of any issue reported recently.
