Making my 1st DL DVD ?

I have a movie that is 3 hours long on 2 dvd's. What I want to do is combine both dvd's (movie only) with DVD Shrink and shrink it to fit on 1 dl dvd. Then I want to add chapters with TMPGEnc DVD Author and burn with the newest Nero 6. Has anyone tried this or know if it will work?

It'll work fine.

What might give you trouble is the layer break... most burning programs crap all over that at this point.

What might ALSO give you trouble is the $15 that it costs for media - which would pay for another copy of the movie.

This will be with a free dl dvd I got from Newegg with a order of Ridata dvd's. I want to do dl burning but I'll wait for the price of the media to come down.Why pay $15.00 for one dl dvd when I can burn to two dvd's for less than $2.00? I just tried burning with Nero and got a error then I tried burning with TMPGEnc DVD Author(DL) and it said the file was to big (8.1GB). I'm re shrinking it to a smaller file size and will try it again. If this doesn't work I guess my Nec ND-2510A won't read a Ridata dvd+r dl disc.

Update:

I tried shrinking the file below 8 GBs and burning with Nero 6 and TMPGEnc DVD Author (DL) and still can't get it to work. I guess the media is not compatible. If they weren't so expensive I'd try another brand. Back to burning to two dvd's.
