Well this actually is capture related b/c I'd like to keep the system on low power while I'm away, and then automatically do a timed capture. But even if I don't do that I'd like this problem fixed. Anyway, there are some irritating problems that sometimes\often occur with standby/hibernate:
-system goes to low power, and a few minutes later exits back to windows and goes back to normal power with no user provocation
-system locks up when exiting low power mode
If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.

Turn off the power save mode stuff in the control panel
Under screen saver settings, click power options, turn off all the hibernate and hard drive options.
Other than maybe your power supply is dying
