  1. hi, i have couple of sites with heavy php - mysql usage.

    what were some of the things you did, that we can learn from, to reduce bandwith ?

    compress the output in php using ob_start("ob_gzhandler&quot(it requires php 4.0.4pl1 or higher and compiled with zlib)

  3. do you need to include ob_gzhandler in your scripts? i thought mod_zlib did the compression already ... i guess i should do some more reading ...

    well do you see and change in badwith usage ?

    maybe it is not necassary if using mod_zlib...i dont know because it was not installed on our server.

    the forum bandwitdh dropped from 3-5 GB day to 0.5-1 GB day

    i dunno if it would cut down on bandwith but maybe if u prunned old posts or deleted closed topics instead of leaving them.
