  1. For the past week, I have been making region free back ups of some foreign DVDs I own, using Nero recode. So far everything has been running smoothly, but I came across 2 DVDs that gave me problems with subtitles. All I have been doing is copying the main title and removing everything except for the origional audio and English subs. After burning, the subs show up on my PC, but not on any DVD players I have tried. I have searched around and found a couple of topics that seemed to be relavent, but didn't make any sense to me. The posts that seem to come up the most talked about borders Since I'm a totally wet behind the ears Newb, I'm not sure if that is the problem or something else. If it is, is there a way to fix this in Nero, or do I need to use another software? Just a little additional info. The 2 Dvds were: Battle Royale II (Japanese) & Please Teach Me English (Korean), both Widescreen region 3 NTSC. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. [/url]

  2. Do they turn on and off, by hitting the subtitle button?

  3. If you are talking about switching between subs and no subs, yes it does. Last night I tried switching my player to 16:9 from 4:3 ratio and the subs show, of course then you get that stretched look of the film. I guess I'm trying to get it so I don't have to do that.

  4. You shouldn't have to switch the aspect ratio to see them. You should be able to switch between subs, with just a subtitle button most remote controls have. Sorry I can't be of more help.
