  1. I am using WinXP Home Edition. When I access the "Add/Remove Programs" utility, I have several programs that show 0.00 Mb and I know I uninstalled them. I have deleted their folders, I have removed all their registry entries to the best of my ability (I removed all that had the name of the program or game in the description, I don't know what many of the entries go to so I left them alone). The entries I can't get rid of are 'Metacreations Art Dabbler' and a couple of game demos. I have run Ashampoo Registry Cleaner, it's supposed to clean 'unlinked' registry entries; it got rid of some that I didn't know I had, but not the ones that I wanted it to get. So, is this a registry problem, or should I go somewhere else to rid these entries?
If it works, don't fix it.

There should still be a couple of entries in the hkey local machine key of the registry that you need to remove.

That is the first place I would look.

Although if the program uninstaller got corrupted, you may need to reinstall the program in order to remove it. This happens from time to time.

Take a look HERE for the instructions on how to remove these entries. That should take care of your problem. Be sure to read entire instructions before making any changes to your registry. If you do it wrong, you could mess up your machine.

  4. Thanks for the input. There were still entries in the 'Uninstall' in the "Local Machine", they're gone now.

Have you tried clicking on the entry and select uninstall, I had a uninstalled program in that list. When I did that it said this entry is no longer associated with anything do you want to remove it from this list? Or something along those lines.

RegCleanr will also get rid of them without any registry work on your part.
Unfortunately they have been bought out by JV16 which now charges for it. But there should be a copy around on one of the free download sites.

The comment was for future reference, and for those that may feel uncomfortable editing the registry. Lighten up.
