  1. Whats the best dvd burning software for backing up ps2 games and creating dvd's from mpegs. Im buying a dvdrw without software, i have one of the latest nero's but it has no dvd option in the panel, just vcd and svcd. I presume i need a plug in, or is there better software to use?

    Thank you,
    Andrew

  2. For authoring i personally like DVD Movie Factory from Ulead... simple and fast and does not re-encode compliant MPEG's.

For copying DVD's use an updated copy of NERO or Roxio general purpose copying / duplication software. (roxio 6 basic came with my burner).

If the PS2 games are not protected any copy program will copy them just fine... if they are protected you can use CloneDVD or Intervideo DVDcopy. (with a copy of AnyDVD or decrypter) I am not sure on the format of PS2 games.. maybe a few searches are in order.

I have been using Alcohol 120% to copy my PS2 Game's, a beta version of CloneCD is avalible to download and try it out. I used it on a couple of PS/2 DVD's games yesterday, it work fine.

When you install your dvdrw nero will show a pulldown tab and you can select dvd recording,i use nero to burn my ps2 backups and thay work better than if i burned them with alcohol 120%.

I don't know about the best however I can recommend the following for problem free backups.
    1. Use Shrink to re-author and backup.
    2. Use imgTool Classic and make an ISO image.
    3. Burn with DVD Decriptor.

No coasters, no skips and a backup that is hard pick from the original DVD, more importantly, I use the cheapest DVD media I can find.

The above mentioned software are all free downloads.

@blinky88, dunno if you missed my post in the other thread but the latest version of DVDShrink allows you to create an ISO without the need for imgtool any more

    so now it's a 2 step, 2 tool process
