  1. I just burned a few different VCDs with Nero 5.5, put it into my Panasonic PV-D4761 DVD-VCR combo, and it absolutely can't play the vcd - keeps skipping, interrupting audio and video. Some tracks wont even play at all, some play fine, some just skip all the time. I burned the same vcd with InstantDVD/CD - same thing. Then I tried burning this vcd qith different options in Nero - close/open cd. That didnt help. I even tried reencoding the movie in tmpgenc - no luck. I tried same procedures with other movies, but that didnt help. Anyone had a similar problem?

  2. Just an idea to narrow the problem down. Try playing your created VCD disk w/ a Computer Software VCD player. Example 'MYflix' or similar. If it also plays crappy from that it is most likely a bad burn on the CD. Good luck.

  3. Here is the easy solution...... does your dvd player play origional vcd's????? if yes it may not like your brand of cdr or not like cdr at all. U should not be having probs with nero at all as this is the version i use. To narrow everything down does the vcd play on your pc.. If the answer is yes just face the facts that the dvd does not play them.

    Kev!

  5. I'm dealing with same issue. My DVD plays original VCDs but not burned ones. I don't know what to do. It's a Sony DVP-9000ES

Search the web for "Vivastar" brand CD-Rs: they sell for about the same price as other CD-Rs (ie. much cheaper than CD-RW), but *work* in Sony DVD players.

There are other CD-R brands known to work, eg. Princo, but Princo have a reputation for poor quality plus a suggestion that they sometimes vary the dye - I have no personal experience of Princo's so I can't confirm either rumour, I do have personal experience of Vivastar, and that experience is that, so far, 100% of burns have been accepted by the Sony.
