What a good week. Not only did I get the entire Honey-Do list done, but I had money left over for some new toys. And the Dual Pentium II build is working like a champ.

Do you have to have matching CPU on a dual setup?
I have 3 servers that all have matching CPUs. The warranty would only cover them if they were the same.

My understanding is that if the processor 'Steps' aren't matched, the warranty is void on the CPUs and the Mainboard. I've understood it to be that way since the Pentium Pro days. But I've done so few multiprocessor builds in my time that I have to keep a cheat-sheet around.

These are matched steps. They're PII 333s (512k cache on a 66 MHz bus) with 128MB EDO SDRAM; Windows2000 Professional runs like a dream on this little workstation. Not a single glitch to report yet, even with an ATI Rage IIC AGP card. And it cost under $100 to build.

My next fun machine is an Intel SKA4 Quad Xeon build.

I just got offered a job in Las Vegas.....that I interviewed for in February! I really wanted the job then, but we just finished unpacking in the new house, and not real anxious to move again. I just wish I knew what was going to happen with this job at the end of the contract in January.....

I don't think $55K an acre is too bad. On the other hand, $110 per sq/ft is relative to where you live. I have seen everything from $60 per to almost $300 per. Ok, the land is relative too, but I would pay that almost anywhere.

I have eye strain looking through all the listing on realtor.com and homes.com......Plus their queries never match what you put in....How does 8000sq ft = 1 acre? Also none of the MLSs match from one site to the other.
