For those of us that pray to the CRT/LCD Gods during our work hours post your work system(s) here. Just as a warning though many places of work don't like pictures being taken so make sure it's OK, I don't want anyone getting in trouble![]()
Mine on a typical day:
On the left is a Dell workstation that sucks. It's only a 2.8 GHz 800 FSB P4 but it has a good Quadro video card in it and plenty of SCSI. The other one is of course a G5 which I use for most of my work with its dual 2 GHz CPUs, 2GB RAM, and a better Quadro. Each has its own 21" Sony CRT but they have dual inputs so at any time both can be running off the same workstation. The most important feature is the never-ending iced latte in the middle of the two. I can't work without constantly being fed one intravenously![]()

His kinda looks like my network closet. In it is a macabre collection of really old computer parts like sub-300MB hard drives and the like. I came across a 5.25" Fireball the other day in there that we now use to hold a table up. It was interesting to look at the 240MB Fireball and the 256MB USB drive in comparison, not to mention my 1GB MemoryStick
Here's the interesting part: there is an operating 486 within 10 feet of that G5. I can actually hear the 486 over the G5 and the Dell most days. -
Not my university but this gives you an idea what one of the labs at uni looks like:
Thats for my "Interactive Media" class I am taking this semester, gotta learn how to use a mac. On the first day I couldn't figure out how to log out of the damn machine.
Most of the other labs use P4 Windows boxes, some have Sun boxes.
