I normally convert avi's to mpegs with virtual dub to seperate the audio and then TMPGEnc to do the conversion.

I see there is a QTreader plugin for TMPGEnc which is cool. But how do you tell the frame rate of the MOV file? Virtual dub and G Spot cannot read it. And can I separate the audio?

I tried just using the MOV file with the plugin and TMPGEnc, using no seperate audio and TMPGEnc takes forever to open the file and then just freezes before doing any progres.

Should I convert the MOV to AVI first? What to use?

    Thanks in advance.

I usually open the file in QuickTime before loading into TMPGEnc to determine the framrate.

Do you have QuickTime installed? The plugin makes use of existing decoders on your system.
