Hello,
If you have a dts enabled Digital receiver choose BOTH ac3 and dts (dts will only play on a dts enabled receiver/sound card, not the regular tv). If you just have dolby digital or tv/pc only choose ac3.
Kevin
Usually ac3 only is the best bet to save space. Again use both if you have a dts receiver.
EDIT - - the first 5.1 channel choice is your best bet in this instance. The others (except dts) will most likely be commentary tracks.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Hello,
Yes it is. I also believe it can play dts. You'll have to check the system settings for that. Also, I'm sure you know but you need a dvd adapter for the xbox to play dvds.
Kevin
P.S. Make sure you have the right adapter (ie advanced or high def) so you can connect a fiber optic cable to your dolby digital receiver.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Hello,
I am 99.99% certain of that. DTS is a sperate surround sound that needs its own decoding chip. AC3 is Dolby Digital and that is on ALL Dvd players (it will decode to play on regular tvs - also pcs are equipped to play back at least the stereo of ac3 {you need a 5.1 sound card and the right dvd software to get ac3 5.1 on a pc}).
Basically anything will playback ac3 but only DTS ENABLED devices will play dts. To save space choose ac3 (and choose the first 5.1 ac3 english selection as that is most likely to be the regular movie track).
If I've gone a little overboard on the details let me know and I'll try to be a little more generic.
Kevin
P.S. If you can't tell by now I'm something of a tech buff (advanced novice as I'd like to say)
