I am making some training VCD's based on some DV films. Sometimes I need the original audio in the VCD and sometimes i don't. Is there some way to supress the audio when I am mastering the VCD? I do not want to interfere with the original captured file.

Hello,
You can always backup the orignal mpg file to cd so as not to lose it.
When you say SUPRESS do you mean MUTE the audio? If so you could strip the audio and save it as a wav. Then use a wav editor to insert silence at the points you need. Then remux the audio with the video.
If you have another plan in mind for supression please elaborate more so others may offer another suggestion.
