  1. Hi,

I like to encode my video footage using AC3 audio to have more available space for video in the DVD. How should I do this?

FFMPEG/FFMPEGGUI makes good AC3 files for me....you can always run them thru AC3FIX/AC3FIXGUI if required.....play the resulting sound file with a sofware DVD player to check they are OK..I use SONIC because its fussy about its AC3 so if it plays with that it will play on anything.

If you have any problems convert the ORIGINAL audio to a .wav (@ 48khz) with AUDACITY (a bit slow but it ALWAYS works for me ..even on audio files that VDub, BeSweet, etc fail on)....then point FFMPEGGUI at the new .wav.

You could always use MP2 as the end file will be the same size (its less error prone than AC3...but may not play on all DVD players...tho' I've yet to come across one that doesnt play DVD's with MP2 audio...I'm in the UK).
