In file mode I am right clicking to get stream processing so that I can choose to demux the video stream and AC3 audio from a DVD-R disc, but for some reason the audio is not showing up. It's just giving me video and subtitle. Anyone know how I can demux my audio and video under file mode??

I don't have any problem demuxing under IFO mode with the same discs, but I need to use file mode as I am burning with Nero and it is giving me error messages.

    Hello,
You could rip the whole movie (and get the vobs to the harddrive) and demux with tmpgenc. But to do it with dvd decryptor I believe you do demux raw in stream processing. I could be wrong. I'm at work right now so I can't load the program and check. Hopefully somebody else will be able to show you step by step.

I've figured this out now. I was highlighting all the files instead of just the vob files when I right clicked for stream processing.

I'd still be interested to know what you mean about doing it by checking "Raw" though. I thought demux was the way to go.

    Hello,
I'm glad you figured it out. RAW was how I was able to get just the .ac3 file off the disc. Though I'm sure the normal stream processing will do just fine. Stick with what works for you, that's a good motto to go with in digital video.

Also if anyone knows. I am going from DVD-r to DVD-r. Should I select "Main movie + IFOs" or "all" under settings, file mode, select all????

I'm being pedantic because I have just authored 2 DVDs which I will have to do from scratch due to not paying attention the last time and selecting the wrong mode.

    Hello,
If there alread dvd-r why don't you disc copy? There unprotected so just use any program and do an iso rip then burn (or if you have a dvd-rom and a dvdburner on the same computer you should be able to copy on the fly).

You could also use dvd decryptor and the iso mode I think it is. This will rip it to one file called something.iso and then burn it with any dvd burning software.

Hi Yoda. The problem is I am reauthoring with new menus. The files were not neatly organised into chapters so I had to rip as one big file then use BBMpeg to split them into smaller MPEG files. I the reauthor and burn to DVD.

It's long and drawn out but I did ask on this site before and I don't think there was any other way around it. Once I have authored my discs then I can copy them the way you mentioned.

    Hello,
You could try a trial version of Tmpgenc dvd author. It will read dvd vob files. You rip them first then load them into tda. From there you can put in new chapter marks and menus. You may want to check it out. This could save you a step or two.
