having problems using dvd decryptor and dvd shrink trying to backup welcome to the jungle,it stops reading on the 4th vob file with each program and comes up with a cyclic redundency check error.
are there any settings to get round this or perhaps another program i can try.
the dvd is brand new and not scratched.
any help would be appreciated.

Cyclic Redundancy Check normally means there are problems reading the disc.
There are many methods around this:
The very first thing is to make sure that there are no fingerprints on the very outer edge of the disc.
Try using Smartripper to rip instead.
Try using a different DVD-ROM or burner to rip.If in doubt, Google it. -

tried smart ripper with no success however i have managed to back up the dvd to the hard drive using dvd decryptor in ifo mode with the read error setting turned off and have the entire movie so where do i go from here -
Hello,
I believe dvdshrink will read ifo (just open the directory -open file- and it should find it). If not use another transcoder. Since you got it on the harddrive there shouldn't be any problems.

A while back, before I had a DVD-ROM to rip with, I came across a disc that my LiteOn 401s wouldn't rip. Same problem, Cyclical Redundancy Error. The disc (side B of The Ten Commandments) was clean & scratch free, as it was new. Side A ripped normally, however, neither Shrink nor Decrypter could rip side B. I threw it my brother's HP 200i & it ripped no problem.
