I made a recording on DVD-RW using DVD-VR mode. It plays fine in recorder. But my NEC 2500A would not recognize the disc before and after it is finalized. Do I need to install some kind of driver? Thanks!

Hi cchang,
I don't think you need any special drivers to view finalized DVD-RW recorded in DVD-VR mode. I remember I recorded one DVD-RW on DVD-VR mode with my JVC about a month ago. I finalized it. Then I was able to view it in my Windows 2003 PC in my LiteOn 404S. -

VR mode blows. Maybe that's just me.
WinME would never read the UDF system. But WinXP Pro is fine with it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Just downloaded and installed the UDF reader called ReadDVD from the following web site:

Now my windows 2000 system can read the finalized DVD-VR mode DVD-RW without problem. Thanks for the hints.
