I discovered this on accident. It is a geious way to make a svcd or vcd into a great quality dvd.

This will work for a avi dvd player also.

You need : A stand alone DVD player
: A capture card , preferrably ATI All in wonder.
    : Patience.

All you have to do is burn your source file on to cdr.. (I burn the mpg files on to a dvd and just play that ) then play back through the capture card from the stand alone player. When capturing make sure to capture at DVD MPG Quality.(ATI owners right click on the screen select setup and then the personal video recorder, click DVD quality) I don't edit the video so am extra careful when to stop and start, if you miss use tmpge dvd author to cut the undesired frames out. Now when you are done you have a huge chunk of video lol, or two or three small ones( I keep it to one, some dvd players have a problem if you don't use a menu or even use a menu the movie will jump to the menu after reaching the end of the first clip. Now open TMPGE DVD Author and make your source files. Then use Nero to burn as many as you need. Now.. NO pixalation and no blurryness. Excellent way to do it. Think outside the box. I see to many people looking for the magical piece of software and often they do not realize there are easier and better ways.

  2. What you are doing is utilizing your hardware to maximise the quality of your movies. There is software that does this in a 1/2 the time

The software will change the videos data and make it bigger but crappier looking. This method you got the same movie and the same quality but bigger. And man do they look great on my tv. Just throwing it out there man. Hope some one gets some use of it. I have donated money and I will also help if I can. I have gotton plenty of help from here and I don't mind helping if I can.

I will mention one note tho.. I use a 64 MB card All in wonder pro 9600
I have a 16 MB All in wonder on another computer, it drops frames like hell capturing DVD MPG. Also I do not change any default settings, I have yet to drop a frame, but before when I change things I dropped frames like crazy.
