Problem with AC-3 audio codec.

Hello!


I am transferring my home video from Samsung hi-8 Camcorder to Phillips DVDR stand – alone Top Set video recorder to a DVD+RW media using 1X quality setting.
The recording turns out great – same as you have used a mini-DV camcorder source. 740X 5xxx picture size
Then I pup it in my PC to add some text, buttons transactions and ETS but, here it comes the problem :

I am using Ulead Video Studio 7and 8
Pinnacle 8 and 9
DVD builder from

NON of them supports AC-3 audio. My videos turn out finally silent.
What a waist!

What software should I use that supports AC-3 audio codec?

this method will take a little more time, but try this: after you record, use dvd decrypter and make sure you choose no file splitting. then you should have one large vob file on your pc. use womble mpeg vcr and save the vob as mpeg with layer 2 audio. this should take care of it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 and DVDLab do not include features like adding transitions or text to the frames whiting the movie.
Adding text is allowed just to the title picture and transitions-just b/n the title picture and the movie, not b/n the frames inside. I couldn’t even find a way to put “The End” on the last frame. Am I missing something?
And the Help of DVDLab is so purely written…the “search” is horrible…..
It is nice that they are compatible with AC-3 codec and produce nice buttons/links, but I need a program that does it all.

Something like Ulead studio and Pinnacle studio, but to support AC-3 audio…

You can always use PCM audio but it's uncompressed so it takes up quite a bit more room.
