  1. Hi,

What program do you guys/gals use to send faxes with?

I want to get a Printer/Scanner/Fax all in one but can't decide which to get. So I thought about faxing through the computer...

    Any suggestions??

Either the built-in XP faxtools or Classic Phone Tools. They're all pretty much the same these days.

I think I paid $10 for HotFax. I bought it at Fry's Electronics.

  9. hmmm what about this,

How do you hook up a fax and an answering machine to the same phone line and have them work properly? SO the answering machine doesn't record the infamous "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegongeeeee eegong" or the fax answering to a person.

    know what i mean??

The Fax Wizard is part of printing. When you are ready to send your document, go to the requester, change the printer to fax, and follow the prompts.
    Hello.

Some of the all-in-ones will do it for you. I know of a couple of HP models that do. Phone line runs to the all-in-one, then out to the phone/answering machine. If the call is fax, the all-in-one picks up, if it's voice, it feeds through to the phone. The only thing to remember is to set the number of rings lower on the all-in-one than the answering machine.

edit - some of the pc telephony modems will do it as well.
