menu from DVD to VCD....please help

i just want to know if it's possible to rip or convert all the menu from a DVd to VCD...

cause i have a couples of karaoke DVD and i would like to make VCD with it but i need the menu to select the song i want...

so if anyone can help me it will be very appreciate..

i myself did transfer some vhs karaoke and made them workable vcds. i didn't make any menus coz each song is a track. just press the track no. and you're right there right away. in your case, capture your dvd karaoke using vdub for each song so that you'll have different tracks and again, press the track no. in your remote and you're in that track right away.

I believe you can if you can find vob file that contain menu. just rip that vob file (mostly in Vts_xx_0.vob) like you normally do. But with vcd menu you cannot use UP DOWN button like DVD. After that use VCDimager to make the menu to work with your karaoke vcd. Hope this help.

I am trying to find out how to get the menu system from the dvd to the vcd. I have read many messages on various forums here on HCDHELP.com but have not found an answer. Right now I make vcds from dvds using smartripper, dvd2avi and TMPGenc. What do I need to do to get the menus off of the dvds? The subtitles as well would be nice.

Go to Sefy's guide and he has a detailed description on how to create menus and subtitles

Macmizer, First you need to rip menu's vob file from DVD. In smartripper change to file mode and you will see so many vob files. Look for the main movie vob files, (most of the time Smartripper already checks for you) rip only Vts_xx_0.vob (xx = number of your main movie' vobs)
After you have menu's vob file, load into DVD2avi in order to be able to encode only short clip or pictures that you want to be your vcd's menu. You can capture picture directly from vob file, but I'd prefer using TMPGenc to do so.
If this your first attempt, I suggest still-image menu first, because it's easy to edit picture as you want it to be.
