  1. does anyone know how i would get a pal mpg vcd file onto a dvd. i have tried tmpenc author and it won't do it, roxio dvd won't do it. anybody know what would work?

    Its prolly just an out of spec file. Reencode it with TMPGENC, that should fix it.

    What type of error message do you get?Is it something like no sequence header?Might be fixable without re-encoding if you mention the problem.

  4. well i get different error messages with different programs, some just freeze up when i try to open the file. tmpenc i get gop too long and something about the pixel size being wrong and just roxio freezes up.

    GOP too long is a definite possibility for a VCD compliant file, however pixel size being wrong can't happen if it is VCD compliant, because VCD compliant resolution is also DVD compliant, unless you are trying to add it to a compilation that contains other files with different resolutions.

    I don't think you can change the GOP without re-encoding. Run your file through TMPGEnc Plus, load a suitable template, and make sure that on the GOP Structure tab, MAX no of frames in a GOP is set to 15.
