I am a professional off-line VT editor who uses Avid and Lightwave in the studio because It's the industry standard, but much prefer Adobe Premiere 7 at home. Vegas 5 has similar features, but the non-standard interface gets in the way. Everything in Premiere 7 is laid out as it should be, making it the most complete, productive and easy to use software I've used and I've used everything, Vegas 5, Canopus. If I could use Premiere 7 in the studio I would. I can't give a better recommendation than that.
